Tradenames: Igtropin, IGF-1 LR3
Insulin-like growth factor 1 from wich IGF-1 LR3 is derived, is a peptide hormone that is found naturally in the human body. It belongs to the same family of hormones like insulin. In comparations with other peptide hormones IGF-1 is relatively small, having a chain of 70 amino acids. But this has no relevance to its biological importance. IGF-1 ia an anabolic mediator of human growth hormone ( HGH ), which alone has no anabolic effect. Tha capacity of HGH to stimulate the secretion of IGF-1 makes it such a potent anabolic agent. The hormone IGF-1 was discovered in 1957. At first it was thought that it helps regenerate cartilages. In the late 70s recived the name IGF-1 and researchers started studying its effects.
IGF-1 promotes the development of almost all tissues. Not only muscles but also the internal organs, brain and eyes. Because the muscles responde to external stimuli by increasing in size and gaining strength, they are more sensitive to IGF-1 than other organs. Although IGF-1 promotes anabolism throughout the body, it is not dangerous to be used for muscle mass gains (but the danger of internal organs enlargement can not be ignored).
IGF-1 sustains muscle cell activity and leads to a greater concentration of proteins in muscle tissues. Human Growth Hormone and IGF-1 are potent hormones who have different properties from anabolic steroids. They are seen more like substances that stimulate hyperplasia (increased number of cells). IGF-1 produces muscle gains through a sustainable and qualitative growth, not by increasing muscle cells volume.
Originally there were some problems with the use of IGF-1 as a therapeutic method. The main problem was its metabolic rate, requiring two injections per day to maintain steady levels in the blood. The same problem occurred at the beginning with anabolic steroids, but testosterone has a halflife greater than IGF-1. Scientists had to seek new ways to increase the half-life before it could be used. For this changes were required to the structure of IGF-1. A popular form of synthetic IGF-1 is IGF-1 Long R3 a.k.a LR3-IGF-1. It has a greater half - life than insulin and it is 2.5 - 3 times more powerful than normal IGF-1.
Officialy is a experimental drug, but it is sold on the steroid black market since it first appeared. It comes in two forms: as powder that must be mixed with bacteriostatic water or diluted into an alcohol solvent. It is administered using insulin syringes because it is emasured in mcg and the volume inejcted is low.
IGF-1 Long R3 is administerd intramusuclary. Although subcutaneous injections are possible with this product, they give a little more discomfort than intramusuclare. It is best to inject in the muscle group trained that day, in an effort to stimulate local growth.
The dose is usually between 20 mcg and 80 mcg, administration being made daily. The daily dose can be subdivided into two 10-12 hours apart. Some bodybuilders venture with doses greater than 100 mcg per day, and rumors are some top professional bodybuilders even use 200 mcg per day during bulkibg periods. But this will have astronomical costs. Among amateur bodybuilders daily doses of 30 mcg are the most common.
The results obtained with IGF-1 Long R3 are better pumps, increased appetite, lean muscle mass gains, strength gains and fat loss. A 30 days cycle can bring on avarage gains of 2-3 kg of lean muscle mass. However, taken alone, it is not as effective as steroids, but it is quite a powerful anabolic substance. Also, the muscle mass gained with IGF Long R3 it is easily kept post-cycle. This is due to several factors, including the lack of a hormonal crash.
When it comes to cutting IGF-1 Long R3 is not as effective as human growth hormone. But that does not mean IGF-1 has no value in this regard. It is a good fat loss agent and when you're using it you can have a large caloric consumption without fat gain.
IGF-1 Long R3 cycle length is between 4 and 12 weeks, then a break of at least 4-6 weeks must be taken.
Do not forget that there are risks associated with the use of IGF-1 Long R3. Internal organs enlargement, bones and skin thinning, insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, water retention and edema, and even gynecomastia at those who are very sensitive. There were even reported cases of carpal tunnel syndrome, which is usually preceded by numbness of the hands and wrists. It is a substance to be respected and not abused. I will say it again: is still an experimental drug and the effects on humans have not yet been fully discovered.
WARNING! The use of human growth hormone can be very risky. Fortunately, there are natural alternatives that can stimulate the natural secretion of growth hormone, with no side effects and risks. And often at very good prices. Such options are GH Balance or Somatodrol.
