It is one of the newest steroids to hit the market. As its name suggests is in the form of gel, applied transdermally, with a concentration of 1% testosterone. It is prescribed by doctors to restore normal androgen levels in older men, which is easy to administer (no injection) and has a high succes rate (an efficiency of 87%). It is ironic that this product is acclaimed by the media as a great medical breakthrough although it contains the active substance testosterone, the same substance that is blamed for decades and which was said to be a great danger for the population.
It comes packed in packages of 2.5 grams and 5 grams, which represents a concentration of 25 mg and 50 mg testosterone. From those concentrations, only 2,5 mg and 5 mg of testosterone reach in the body. Although one might think that being applied transdermally it will be absorbed slowly, studies have shown that testosterone levels in the body increase 30 minutes after applying the gel. These levels remain elevated for 24 hours so that a single application per day is sufficient.
From the bodybuilders point of view Androgel is not a big deal because it only delivers 5 mg of testosterone per pack which is not too much when you want muscle mass. If you want more testosterone than you must use more packs, up 5-10 packs a day. It is more complicated to apply so many packs and it is very expensive. n injectable form of testosterone makes much more sens for this purpose.
